How to Play Poker

Below are the standard, basic poker rules we follow at Tring Poker Club. If you’re new, arrive early and someone will guide you.

Basic Rules

1. Hand Rankings (highest to lowest):
   • Royal Flush
   • Straight Flush
   • Four of a Kind
   • Full House
   • Flush
   • Straight
   • Three of a Kind
   • Two Pair
   • One Pair
   • High Card
2. Blinds: We use a small blind and big blind to encourage action.
3. Dealing: Each player receives two hole cards (face-down), then a round of betting.
4. The Flop, Turn & River:
   • Flop: Three community cards are dealt face-up. Betting continues.
   • Turn: A fourth community card is dealt face-up. Betting continues.
   • River: A fifth community card is dealt face-up. Final betting round.
5. Showdown: If more than one player remains, the best five-card hand wins the pot.
